Most of what we do follows the Christmas season, but event and occasion lighting is different by design — it's built around whatever date matters to you, whether that's a wedding this spring, a milestone celebration, a community festival, or a Festival of Lights display timed to the holidays. The planning conversation is similar to any of our other services: what you want lit, what the space actually allows, and a design built around the occasion rather than a generic holiday package repurposed for a one-night event.
Because these events run on a fixed date that can't slip, we treat scheduling differently than a typical residential install — the design, materials, and installation timeline are all locked in well ahead of the actual event, not figured out the week of.
An event or occasion doesn't leave room for a redo, so the planning process is more front-loaded than a typical seasonal install. We talk through the date, the venue or property, and what you want lit well before the day itself, so the design, materials, and crew are already locked in by the time the event actually happens. Here's what's included in every project, regardless of the occasion.
Festival of Lights displays and similar community-scale events call for a different kind of planning than a single home or venue — larger footprints, more coordination with organizers, and lighting that needs to hold up to a longer public installation window than a single evening. We work directly with event organizers to scope what a display actually needs, from a modest neighborhood gathering to a larger festival setup, using the same commercial-grade materials and professional installation standards as the rest of our work.
Weddings sit at the other end of the spectrum — usually a single evening, a single venue, and lighting that has to look finished for photos as much as for the event itself. String lighting over a reception area, accent lighting on trees or structures around the venue, and any last-minute adjustments the day of are all part of the same process, coordinated with your venue and timeline rather than scheduled separately from everything else you're planning.
A residential roofline can slip a few days if the schedule gets tight during the busiest weeks of the season, but a wedding date or a festival opening night can't move. That's the biggest difference in how we plan event and occasion lighting: the date drives the schedule, not the other way around. We lock in the design and materials well ahead of time, confirm access and setup windows with the venue or organizer in advance, and build in enough buffer that a weather delay or a late RSVP change doesn't put the actual event date at risk.
