The lake at the center of it all

Clear Lake is a brackish lake fed by Clear Creek that empties into Galveston Bay, and the area that shares its name sits right in the middle of our territory — bordering League City, Seabrook, Kemah, Nassau Bay, and Taylor Lake Village, all cities we already serve. It's home to NASA Johnson Space Center, a 1,620-acre complex that trains astronauts and houses NASA's Mission Control Center, which has anchored a thriving aerospace and tourism economy here for decades. Clear Lake City, the community that grew up around the space center, is as central to how people describe this area as any city name on our list.

Between the waterfront homes along the lake itself, the marina culture that spills over from neighboring Seabrook and Kemah, and the aerospace and business corridor around Johnson Space Center, Clear Lake covers a lot of different kinds of properties within a fairly small footprint — and we plan each installation around the specific one in front of us.

Home port of the Christmas Boat Parade

The Clear Lake Christmas Boat Parade is a tradition spanning more than 60 years, now drawing over 100,000 spectators annually. More than 60 brightly decorated boats launch from South Shore Harbour Marina and the Nassau Bay Lagoon, open with fireworks in the Clear Lake channel, and proceed past the Kemah Boardwalk out to Galveston Bay. It's one of the biggest holiday traditions anywhere in our service area, and Clear Lake itself is quite literally the stage it happens on — not a neighboring city's event borrowed for the occasion.

A home along the Boat Parade's route through the Clear Lake channel is being seen by tens of thousands of people over the course of one evening — a different kind of visibility than most residential lighting is designed for, and we plan around that when a Clear Lake property calls for it. Homes and businesses further from the water, closer to the Johnson Space Center corridor, get the same attention to detail without that added wrinkle.

Being centrally located in our own service area means Clear Lake is never a long trip for us, whether that's the initial design consultation or a mid-season repair.
